I enjoy painting portraits and will undertake commissions.
When beginning to paint a portrait, I block in the basic shapes with background colour and then complete a lot of the work on the eyes. I find this encourages me and gives me a sense of anticipation for the completed work.

What beautiful portraits.
I particularly like ‘Kenyan Lady’,‘The Look’ and ‘Pink Turban’. The level of detail you have put in to the faces and garments gives the portraits such great characters and the colours used make them fresh and vibrant.
It was lovely to see these portraits displayed at a recent art exhibition in Bredon, and the frames that you displayed them in really enhanced them, as they made the colour and detail stand out even more impressively.
